Time Segmented Volume (TSV)

Volume accumulation with time-based weighting

Overview

Time Segmented Volume accumulates volume during defined time periods (typically 28-day segments) to identify whether price moves are supported by volume strength across extended time windows. Helpful for spotting hidden accumulation over weeks.

Key Use: Identify when extended price moves lack volume support across a time period.

Formula

TSV = Sum of (Close - SMA(Close)) × Volume

Recalculated each 28-period time segment

Resets and restarts on signal line crosses

Use Cases

Multi-Week Trend Analysis

See volume accumulation patterns across extended periods.

Support/Resistance Confirmation

TSV strength at key levels validates institutional interest.

Weak Move Detection

Price advance without accompanying TSV growth = weakness.
